Since 1981, Oklahoma Close Up has partnered with schools across Oklahoma to engage and educate students about what is going on in Oklahoma. Over 3,500 students have met with every Governor and key leaders of the Legislature and the Judiciary.

Our Mission

Oklahoma Close Up is a four-day government studies program designed to strengthen participants’ knowledge of the political process. Every February, participants witness how Oklahoma state government works through experiential civic education activities such as mock legislative hearings and court proceedings. The Close Up Program is open for high school students attending public, private, or parochial schools, as well as those who are home-schooled. Oklahoma Close Up is sponsored by the Close Up Foundation, the nation’s largest nonprofit 501(c)(3) nonpartisan citizenship educational organization, and is co-sponsored by the Oklahoma Bar Association.
